Open 6 AM to 2 AM, every day
Twenty hours a day, the same griddle runs for the morning rush and the late crowd off the train. Seton Hall, third shift, night owls. If you are hungry, the door is open.
Off the flat-top
Chopped cheese at noon, a Philly at midnight, eggs at six. One flat-top, running almost around the clock, the same way it ran in Brooklyn.
The Brothers
Omar, Amar and Alaa Hugran grew up working their father and uncle’s delis in Brooklyn. South Orange is their love letter to those countertops, the part deli, part bodega they spent their childhood in.
“Cooking and serving food to happy customers became my passion.”Omar Hugran
They ran the idea first as Deli World in Irvington. “Deli World was our trial,” Omar says. It worked, so they brought the real thing to the Ave. Since the doors opened on May 31, the brothers say they have been overwhelmed by how the South Orange and Maplewood neighborhood showed up for them.

Inside the shop — aisles, a wraparound board, room to sit. A real New York bodega on South Orange Ave.
